Therapy Dog Preparation Classes

(Dog must be 1 Year Old)

Note:  You do not have to take the class in order to be tested. 

You may simple request the test, yet keep in mind it is a "Pass or Fail".  (Can take up to 3 times). 

Also, It is against the rules to evaluate the dog in advance.

After 6 Weeks of CGC:

1.  Handling Skils Test

2.  Observation Test #1:  General Location

3.  Observation Test #2:  Medical

4.  Observation Test #3:   Medical

4-Week Class Instruction / Testing at no Charge

1 hour to 1 � hours per week

• Emphasis on teamwork

• Handling skills, social skills & manners

• Work on basic obedience skills

• Role play with medical equipment and possible field experiences

• Interaction techniques & things to expect on a visit

• Introduction to medical equipment i.e. walkers, wheelchairs, canes & crutches

• Basic test practices

• Paperwork assistance to become registered

• Handout materials

• May include field trip depending on scheduling

• no fee for final required test

• Please note that most of the training is held outdoors.

• Wear a cap if needed

• Bring water, dog treats and poop bags!
